I've never been a huge fan of web browsers serving as an interface for an application.
What I would REALLY like when I come home is to look at my PC and see a program running that shows me my Vonage messages (and also allows me to change transfer settings and other stuff) without having to login into Vonage each time (and not having to enter that DAMN pin as well).
Any programmers out there want to take a hack at this?
I think part of the mentality behind the dashboard is the following...
a) Portability - you can sign in from work/home/friends houses etc.
b) Speed - if you're using Vonage - you'll have broadband. Shouldnt take more than a minute at most to sign in.
c) Platform Independance - Users arent tied down to one particular platform for using the dashboard. The Linux/etc users (the kind of geeky people that Voip appleals to) can still use their dashboard.
I'm sure theres more if I think of them, but this'll start the list...
