I'm in Orlando (Oviedo) with Brighthouse Networks. Download speeds for file transfers are blazingly fast, and upload isn't bad at all. However, from what you are saying, it appears as if I am getting a good amount of packet discards.
Vonage
has always been troublesome for me as I always hear a dialtone for a fraction of a second or so after the party I am calling picks up and says "Hello?" It sounds more like "o?" by the time the dial tone goes away.
I am using the WRT54GP2 router and I working directly off the modem.
To San Jose:
3.4 / 5.0 (Best with G.711 is 4.4)
Degradation Sources
Codec 0.58 35.4%
Latency 0.00 0.0%
Packet Discards 1.05 64.6%
Packet Loss 0.00 0.0%
From San Jose:
3.8 / 5.0 (Best with G.711 is 4.4)
Degradation Sources
Codec 0.58 46.1%
Latency 0.00 0.0%
Packet Discards 0.67 53.9%
Packet Loss 0.00 0.0%
I'm in Orlando and I have excellent results using Bright House, but you may have a problem here. Please post the rest of the details from a test call, preferably to Boston. The packet discards as a degradation source look high, but we can tell better from the absolute percentage of discards and losses.
