Post subject: VOIP Issues
Hello,
We have had
Vonage
for several months now using the Linksys phone adapter and a comcast internet modem.
The funny part is calls are fine if they call us but if we call them often the sound disappears.
I just started using
Vonage
softphone over the last two days and the quality is okay and then disappers for 5 seconds every few minute and comes back and works for a minute or two.
I used testyour
Voip
to place a call to boston and saw similar results. The call from us was bad but the call back is perfect:

I think you've fingered the problem yourself. You have poor
Voip
results on the uplink. I'd try plugging a computer directly into the modem and running that test again. If the results don't improve, then you'll probably have to talk to your ISP about uplink quality. What speed are you measuring on the uplink? Is it what your ISP says you should get?
