Hello, my problem is that everytime i hang up from a phone call using Vonage, my internet connection drops.
By dropping i mean that it just no longer works, not even for the phone.... there's no communication back from the ISP, although all setting appear to be fine...
To fix the internet i have to release and renew my connection to my ISP...
I have the following setup:
T1 line plugged into a wgt624v2 108 mbps firewall router which i have hardwired into a dlink 4port ethernet switch. From the switch i'm running the linksys PAP2 phone adapter and my PC....
The phone i'm using is a Sony IT-M602
BTW: This also happens with the Linksys WRV54G Wireless VPN 2.4 GHz Broadband Router
Please help, i've tried rebooting/resetting everything from scratch, to no avail
Many Thanks in advanced... |

i'm using a Sony IT-M602 phone without the power cord... so "technically" analog...
could this be the problem?
thanks again |

What happens if you plug the PAP2 directly into the router, and not into the switch. |

i've tried this and the internet still drops...
i've changed the pap2 to be on a static IP and i forwarded all of the ports as described in the manual... hoping this would fix the problem...
the problem remains, and now i also have echoes and breakups on my calls....
btw what does the max pause result from the test mean? mine's n the 400s |

are there known problems in splitting the internet between a PAP2 and a PC from a switch?
problem is that i'm in a remote office and have one ethernet cable to supply my entire office (aka little desk full of hardware) with internet...
use of this switch is imperative... in fact i barely have a way to test the setup without it....
recomendations? i need to run a PC and Vonage off one wire |

This is a puzzler. Have you tried cloning MAC addresses so that the ISP always sees the same one from anything using your connection? |
