Post subject: Inbound QoS problems
Is there any way to improve inbound QoS? Could somebody please point me in the right direction?
Details:
I have
Vonage
and a 768k/768k internet connection and a Cisco 1605R router. The moto is behind the router and is NAT'd to a dedicated static IP. Normal calls have good QoS, but inbound audio can get choppy when I have short bursty traffic such as going to a web page, but I do not have problems when I run a big download. I presume that this is because all inbound traffic hits the router before QoS rules are applied and outbound audio is not affected because the router can enforce QoS on outbound traffic.

The ATA cannot enforce any rules on inbound packets, that would have to be done at your ISP's end. Once packets are in the pipe they have to arrive, the ATA has no choice but to pass them along. I would suggest a lower bandwidth setting as a possible solution.
