Hello Signed up about with Vonage about 2 weeks ago. Received my package and hooked everything up. I have the RT31P2 adapter. Everything was working great. Audio was good. After the first week I had to disconnect my entire system (house was being painted). The system was unplugged for about 8hrs. I rehooked everything up and nothing works. I can connect thru the modem (Verizon DSL Westell wirespeed). When the linksys adapter is hooked up, nothing. I cannot connect, no phone lights, no dial tone. I tried contacting Vonage (ha ha) got disconnected. Tried again same result. Tried contacting them via email, no response back . Finally contacted linksys. They suggested a hard reset. Pushed button for 30 secs, disconected power, released button. Still no worky. I have rehooked up adapter so many times I can do it in my sleep. I have unplugged modem and adapter anywhere between 30 secs and 2 hrs. I have changed cables and phone. As a last result I am trying here. If I can't get this to work, it's good by Vonage. |

I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with your router. However, in order for us to help you, you need to give us more details than your post.
Please tell us exactly from what port to what port all your equipment is connected to each other and also the configuration of your rt31p2 (i.e. is it PPoE or is it to obtain an IP address automatically etc). |

Not sure what port, I contacted Verizon to make sure it was DHCP. It is. I turned of my sygate firewall, my antivirus in the hope that the problem was there. No luck. How do I find out the port? |

I think what mundy5 is getting at is that a detailed description of what pieces of hardware you have, how they are connected, and something about how they are configured wouldhelp us help you.
So, you have a Westell modem from Verizon ... what model? You then have the rt31p2 and a computer. Is that all that is in the picture? If so, what is hooked to what? |

Ok let me know if this is enough. I am using windows xp home sp2. Ethernet connections from modem to adapter(rt31p2) The modem is a westell wirespeed 890-210015-04. From the adapter (ethernet connection 1) to Dell Dimension 8400 (Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller) I have one connection from the phone jack (one) to a uniden cordless phone. |

So, if you connect your computer directly to the Westell Modem then you can get on?
If so, which component is doing the PPPoE signon to DSL ... the Westell or software on your computer? |

Currently I have just the modem connected as its the only way I have of getting on the internet and this board. I contacted Verizon and they said Verizon where I am uses dynamic or DHCP . No host or domain name is needed. Its not PPPoE, because I asked that at first. Currently I have no problems connecting through just the westell modem. |
