I have been trying to get Vonage to work with my existing phone lines. I have dsl, so I have isolated that line from the outside to 1 jack. The rest of the jacks are wired together on a separate pair of wires. I can get a dial tone with Vonage, but after approx. 5 seconds, I get a fast busy over the top of the dial tone. I can still place phone calls, but the fast busy remains. It renders the calls unintelligible. any help would be appreciated. |

Are you absolutely sure that you're disconnected from all outside lines?
I assume that you don't have this problem when you're not using the house wiring. is that correct? |

I went through it again and determed that I indeed was still hooked to the outside with a second line. I forgot that I had a second line installed when I first moved into the house. Once I disconnected from the outside, the problem went away. Thanks. |
