Hi all,
Getting really frustrated here... I have the following:
My devices are:
Cable Modem --> 192.168.1.1
Linksys WRT54GX --> 192.168.1.3
Linksys RTP300 --> 192.168.2.3
All clients are getting DHCP addresses from the WRT54GX, which is acting as the gateway.
I originally had the RTP300 connected to the WRT54GX like so:
Cable Modem
|
WRT54GX
|
---RTP300
---laptop
---pc
But the sound quality on the phone was simply awful - it sounded like we were in a wind tunnel. At times, the voice would fade in and out, rendering the phone service completely useless.
So, I would like to flip my network setup so that the RTP300 is directly connected to the cable modem, and the WRT54GX with all its clients is connected to the RTP300 (acting as the gateway):
Cable Modem
|
RTP300
|
---WRT54GX
|
---laptop
---pc
Or would it make more sense to do it like this:
Cable Modem
|
Switch
|
--- RTP300
---WRT54GX
|
---laptop
---pc

I'd try the RTP300 with default settings. Qos Enabled
Hard wire the PC to the RTP300 will work best.
It does make it hard to share files but puts your wireless on a different network.
