Post subject: Buy my own VOIP Router/adaptor
Hello,
Basically I need a PBX system so I am going to purchase a Linksys SPA9000 box.
I called vonage and inquired, but they wouldn't tell me anything. I'm going to need to set this box up in place of my RTP300. Is there any way to obtain the configuration information locked in my adaptor? Or am I going to have to switch to a company that doesnt force me to use their hardware?

Vonage has higher priced business plans available with Bring Your Own Device (BYOD). Depending on your calling patterns you could add the optional SoftPhone feature (extra cost, limited minutes) and use that in conjunction with your new device.
Anything else is outside the terms of service.

I am also looking to buy the SPA9000 IP PBX and after having Vonage for only a few months am disappointed to see that I didn't pick an ITSP that supports open SIP.
There was a post on these forums not long ago claiming Vonage was going to open their SIP credentials allowing usage of a SPA9000.
Any updates? Switching service is a hassle but unless this becomes a reality by next week I'll be moving to a more open VOIP provider.
