Post subject: WTRP54G and multiple phone lines
Setup details, Comcast High speed internet hooked up to the
vonage
router wrtp54g. The phone port1 is then hooked up to the wall jack to distribute the phoneline to the whole house.
This setup has always worked for me till I moved to the new house. In the new house the phone will work only if it is directly hooked up to the router.
If the phone wire is connected to the wall jack this may or may not work to activate other phone connection in the house. (It works on the first attempt most of the times. Once in a while after the first call some time it lets me make another call as well) however most of the time this setup gives me a busy signal. I have already checked the wiring and it looks fine both inside and outside (new development and I never got verizon to connect the phone line for me)
Any lead will be really appreciated.
The
vonage
tech support after 1 hr long call and three diffrent level of people said that they don't know anything about it.

Even though you never had Verizon provide service, have you verified that your inside wiring is NOT connected to anything outside?
