Hey --
New to Vonage (1 month) . So far so good, no probs with setup, connectivity, or (surprise) transfer of number from previous carrier.
One nagging little item...

I'm using a Motorola 5.8 ghz MD760 phone. It only rings (audibly) one time per incoming call. It should ring three times before going to the answering machine. The phone lights up with each inaudible ring ... It worked fine with the old phone line, and I haven't modified the phone settings, so I'm pretty sure the culprit is the incoming broadband signal.
I have not found anything in the Motorola support lit., or on the Vonage site to date that indicates that this is a common problem.
Am I missing something obvious?

Nothing obvious as far as I can tell, is the phone connected directly to the adapter or through the house wiring? If the latter does it behave the same when connected directly to the adapter?

Also, which adapter do you have and what firmware is it running? The RTP300 had ringing issues up to version 1.00.55, I believe. The current version is 1.00.60. Also, customer service does have some control over this.

I have the RTP300. This rtr hangs on a WRT54GS (my wireless). Until about 2 hrs ago, I had the phone plugged directly into the RTP300. I have switched it around and nows it gos through the house wiring.
Same problem.

So... firmware upgrade?

Maybe. What firmware are you currently running? You can check by looking at the RTP300's administration page (http://192.168.15.1) with a computer hooked into the RTP. Look in the upper right corner.

Just to completely rule out the phone being an issue, can you borrow an old phone from someone and connect it to your RTP300?

I had this exact same problem with my GE phone (and RT31P2), but I can't find/remember the solution for the life of me. I probably would have posted on here but I can't find that either. I'll keep searching...

edit: wow, I think this is the longest search I've ever done but I finally found the posts:

I read through all of the posts ...thanks, btw - I appreciate all of the information....and I told myself I would call Cus Svc. when I had a spare moment.
Then, tonight, the phone rang. Once, TWICE, THREE TIMES! Weird. I did nothing. Somebody cast their VonageVoodoo my way?
I'll keep an eye on it...no explanation for the problem or the fix.

Vonage pushes new firmware automatically from time to time. Did you check which version you had before and what you have now?
