After working with Vonage to try to figure out why we had no stutter, and not finding a solution, something strange happened, so am posting this in case it works for anyone else.
Leave a message on your phone, log into your Vonage account online, go to the voicemail section, and click on the "listen" link on a message. As soon as I did that, my phone light started working and when I picked it up, the stutter was working. Weird. |

Wrote too soon, now it's not working again
Called Vonage, they had run debugging on it, but couldn't find the problem. |

Not sure what the problem could be. |
I have a GE 5.8 GHz cordless, $49.99 at Target/Best Buy. I feel lucky that the light worked.
I've timed it now - 20 minutes for stutter/light to start after a message is left. 30 minutes after a message is deleted for stutter/light to shut off. |

Nortel Networks corded phone w/executive display and soft keys and Uniden 2.4Ghz cordless w/2 handsets....both light immediately upon message and dim immediately after deleting message. I guess I should consider myself lucky? |

I'm lucky too now - Vonage tracked down the problem and I have indicator light and stutter dial tone which come one immediately when a message is left, and go off immediately if I press * to exit voicemail, or a few minutes later if I just hang up. |

I got a Vtech EV 2625 dual 2.4Ghz DSS phone and it has message light on the base set. It works great with Vonage voice mail. Three line caller ID, and speaker phone on both handsets. NiMH batteries, 801.11 safe. In a word, it works great. I bought it from Staples for $30 after rebate, and I think this promotion will be back some time in the future. I missed the first promotion, and got one last week. |
