its the RTP300, with firmware v 1.00.60 . I didnt change anything b4 it started happening, if i did I would have changed it back. I do have it wired into my house, but only have 3 phones running off of it. Only 1 of the phones has caller id. |

for troubleshooting purposes I would hook the caller id phone directly to the rtp300 and see how things go. |

tried that.... makes no difference. Its gotta be on vonage's end, because when i sign into the dashboard, and I look at the activity, its the same thing. Some calls have the name, others dont. And just to clairify- the numbers that arnt showing names HAVE shown names before. |

So i called Vonage. The first time the guy tried to change some settings, but it didnt work. The second time...... I wanted to jump thru the phone and punch them. They are MORONS. the guy told me that there was nothing they could do. When i told him that i called earlier and they were trying something to fix it, he was like, "O, ya, ok, let me transfer you to advanced support". idiot. Then the ADVANCED support lady told me they couldnt do anything. And for some reason she kept saying that callerid comes with the service, and its enabled. Im like, "no, really?!!!!!" Morons.
Member pubcrawler gave me a private message on here with an email to Vonage, so Im gonna give that a shot. |

heh, ok, well dslreports@vonage.com is one to try, though I'm guessing that was the super secret private message email address. you can also try 888-250-1799 if you can't seem to get past india. there have been pages and pages of threads on this issue, but it has been pretty much resolved with firmware. others may have ideas, or you can try searching for posts when it was a big issue. |

So the problem isn't that CID isn't working at all, it's that sometimes a name accompanies the number and sometimes it doesn't. Is that correct? If so, this is different from the problems others have had that were fixed with firmware upgrades. |

I got it fixed...... and in a timely manner via email. They changed some settings on their end, and all i had to do was reset my router. |
