Hi I'm looking for some suggestions as to what to tell my ISP (Comcast) to get them to fix the packet discards based on these results. I have no problems what-so-ever connecting, surfing the net, speed, etc. so needless to say Comcast is less than helpful when calling for assistance.

I have just started having problems with my voice quality. (Last 2-3 weeks or so.) Choppy audio (both in and out), heavy static on the line, no dropped calls, YET.

LOCATION: 40 Miles north of Denver, CO
ISP: Cable - Comcast 8mb
Set Up: NOW- Scientific Atlanta Webstar DCP 2100 Cable modem -> Netgear WGT 624 v2 Wireless router -> RPT 300 Vonage adapter & Moto v1005 ATA (Both connected to port 1 and 2 respectively of the router.) OTHER SET UPS INCULDE: Moto SB 5120 -> Moto V1005 -> Netgear router -> RPT 300. Along with several different combinations over the last few weeks. No PC's connected via etherent - 2 desktops and 1 laptop connected wirelessly.

All these tests were run with a laptop connected directly to the cable modem.

DOWNLOAD SPEED: From DSL Reports 8866 kbps
UPLOAD SPEED: 692 kbps

You're in a difficult spot because you can't point to any problem except with a service that Comcast won't support, and I have no concrete suggestion for you. However, I did have an interesting experience recently that might apply. My cable performance began to degrade just a bit. About the same time that the performance of my Vonage phone began to suffer, reception on my television on digital channels began to get flaky.

Needless to say, I didn't bother to mention Vonage to my cable television/internet service provider (Bright House). I just demanded that my television be fixed, and that fixed the other problem as well. It's not much, but I hope something like this helps.

Thanks, for the reply Steve. It's funny you mention it, but I have noticed that sometimes when I change to a channel (usually digital) on the TV the picture sort of shakes for a few minuets, before being fine. Never really put it together though. Maybe I'll try that angle. Can't hurt I guess.
