Post subject: How to get Tivo to work with Vonage!!
After trying the many dialing prefixes posted on this forum to no avail. I finally got my Tivo (DirecTv DVR) to work with
Vonage
. I just added "*99," as the dialing prefix, it worked right away!! I dont know what that code does, but it works. I hope this can help others that have been having troubles.

I noticed this after the last rounds of updates that were sent out to the adapters. *99 simply tells the
Vonage
servers to get ready for a fax/data call.
I would recommend that you install a external modem for your DTivo. I did and it's made life much easier for my DTivo when making it's daily calls and downloading the latest system update.

An external modem, for what? By using "*99" alone, it has worked flawlessly every time.

Take a look at:
http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=135715
And do a search for
Vonage
on that site for all the info that you could possibly use.
