My Vonage service really ****!!! Sometime I'll have a dial tone sometime I don't I constally have to do multiple reboots!! I have Time Warner Cable, I live in Raleigh NC.. my equipment is Surf Board Cable Modem SB4200, I have the Links Sys RTP300.. my internet connection run at 4.5-5Mbps... I've called Vonage and they were no help! What should I do? Cancel my service or should I have them send me a new RTP300 adapter??? |

Try running a test call to Boston at www.testyourvoip.com and post the detailed results here. How solid is your internet service? How about power? If you take frequent power hits, can you put your modem and adapter on an UPS? |

You have no dial tone, and phone 2 is lit? Which phone port are you plugged into? What happens if you plug into the other? (Be careful identifying the phone ports. The one located directly behind phone light 2 on hte RTP300 is phone jack 1, and vice versa.) |

yeah i know I've scitched them when it does work and it's pluged into the wrong phone port it tells you it's pluged into the wrong one. But I've switched it numerous times still nothing.. I'm getting very frustrated.. I'm about to give up with Vonage and go with Time Warner Cable Digital phone.. |

I have both a PAP2 and RTP300 sitting on my desk, and I've never had to reboot either one of them. Are you using the RTP300 as a router? If so, get a real router and let the RTP300 act solely as a voice adapter. It's routing functions are lightweight and can't handle file-sharing and large amounts of traffic. |

when you lose dial tone, do you still have internet?
what is your ip on your pc?
make sure you don't have a usb cable, this will cause you to lose dial tone, yet be able to surf the web.
don't know what else to say besides, if you have no usb......your phone adapter may be junk |
