Well my wife and I FINALLY got our old SBC (our local baby-bell) phone number transferred over to Vonage. For all the features Vonage gives us, like online call logs and VM, we couldn't be happier! It's not perfect all the time, but for the most part it works like a charm.
Which leads me to something very funny:
We transferred over fully to Vonage earlier this week. Guess who's been calling our ph# every single day since then, sometimes 3 times or more per day? That's right, SBC! ROFLMAO!!! Sorry SBC, you guys have been in town for a long time and still haven't offered better, cheaper services, so I'm sticking with Vonage.
It's fun to see this kind of healthy competition.  |

Yesterday I called SBC to see if there was any reason they could give me not to switch to Vonage. The clown that I finally spoke to told me that it was on the Vonage web site that you should keep your land line supplier like SBC because Vonage was unreliable and that it would cost me $64 to keep my existing number!
Today I called back SBC to complain and spent over 1 1/2 hrs on the phone. Gave them my phone number that I have had for over 40 years, numerous times and finally they told me that there was no such phone number and hung up on me. That was all I needed to convince me to switch.
I am extremely pleased with the Vonage system so far.
