Ok, hopefully this is working. Sorry the picture is blurry. I didn't think that I was shivering that much!
Hopefully you can see the picture. Thanks for the help. As I said before, this was the way it was described to do by Vonage in their booklet and online. When I plug into the blues downstairs it will make the 2 phones downstairs work, but not the jack upstairs. All are blues and all worked just fine with the typical landlines. |

It's hard to make out much in the photo, but I think there are two phone plugs plugged into jacks. Is that correct? Did you actually disconnect any wires? If you did, and if you remember exactly what you did, then re-connect them exactly as they were before. Then pull those two plugs and you should be good to go. |

Sorry, I tried to get a clear picture for you. The booklet did say to take the wires off and leave the plugs in, so that's what I did. I dont' recall how they were to begin with. Is it the same setup as inside? |

It's hard to say since I don't know how things look inside. Try to remember what you disconnected. In general, blue wires should be connected to red terminals and blue/white wires should be connected to green terminals, but I don't know whether you removed things from the top set of terminals or the bottom set. |

I had the oranges on the bottom and the blues on the top set. I'll go with blues to red and bluewhites to greens. ] |

Actually it was blues on the bottom. I have it hooked up and the upstairs jack is working now! Thank you, however I am back to having an inconsistent dial tone for the first 2-3 seconds when I pick up my phone to dial out now before it becomes a steady tone. What causes that problem and how do I fix it? |

That's called a stutter tone, and it means you have voicemail. After you listen to the voicemail it should go away. If it doesn't, try deleting it and then exiting voicemail by pressing * . |

I have voicemail? Hmm, I never listen to it using the phone. I always listen online. If I delete it that way, I'd still have to call voicemail and press the *, correct? |

Wow, You were right! I deleted it from the website and got a clear dial tone. Amazing! Thank you so much.
And hopefully the calls that only one party can hear or neither party can here will clear up as well.
Thank you again for all your time and help. |
