EXTREMELY LOW OUTBOUND QUALITY OF SOUND since 1 week or so....

1. Your location : Ste-Adele, Quebec, Canada
2. Your ISP name and type (cable, DSL, wireless etc) : COGECO
3. Upload and download speeds : UP= 612kbps DOWN=5.75Mbps
4. Modem make and model : RCA DCM315
5. Type of Vonage adapter used ie RT31P2 or PAP2 : RT31P2
6. Setup of Network ie Modem---->Vonage Adapter-->PC : MODEM -> D-LINK ROUTER DI-624 -> RT31P2
7. Issue you are experiencing ie dropped calls, choppy audio etc : ECHO, CHOPPY AUDIO ON OUTBOUND CALLS

Your test results look pretty good. Are they consistent? Is the problem consistent or intermittent?

The problem is intermitent, it happens mostly between 8 and 10 PM. Worst outbound calls are from Montreal Quebec to Edmonton Alberta. I know this is the rush time but we never had this problem before last week. We are using Vonage IP services for more than 1 year now.

I suspect that you're having reduced service from your ISP during the problem periods. Try repeating the Voip test during a bad period and see what you get.

I did another test at around 10:45 this evening and the result is excellent (see below)

As suggested by VCS when I did my first installation (12 months ago) I disabled the RT31P2 QOS function since that time. Today, I decided to enable it and use the priority section. I have limited the QOS outbound at 300Kbps. I have made a 30 minutes of outbound call with Edmonton tonight without any problem; just a small delay wich is normal at this time of the day.

So I don't know if this is caused by my new setup but it seems to work better now.

Here is the test result for this evening:
