Post subject: Comcast blocking Vonage website????
I was wondering if anybody else that uses Comcast is having trouble accessing the Vonage website. I believe that Comcast is intentionally blocking this site. I am in the burbs of Chicago and for the past day or so I haven't been able to open the vonage website to log in my vonage account. Assuming it was a problem with the Vonage server, I didn't think much of it, now the next day, I still have the same problem. Then I checked that my internet connection was fine, can ping and address I like, except Vonage, again making me thing the site was down. Then I decided to log on to my company VPN (virtual private network), and guess what, the Vonage site popped right up!!! It sure appears that comcast is intentionally blocking the web site. My Voip works fine, so they haven't blocked any ports. I checked with a few of my friends that use Comcast as their ISP and none of them can access the Vonage site.... ANyone else out there having this problem????

It's been not loading, or loading like a 2400 baud modem for 3 days here. I didn't have any better luck using the T-3 line at work either. I don't think it's Comcast. It's almost like their server is having a denial of service attack. Tried pinging
www.vonage.com
and got 100% packet loss.

Well once again, the Vonage website is working 100% fine when I am connected through my comapny VPN. Absolutely no problems, pages don't even hesitate loading, that is why I suspected Comcast.
Try it without the VPN and nothing

Loads instantly with no problems at all here via Comcast.

Post subject: Website can be accessed with dial-up, not Comcast
I am in Chicago and have Comcast broadband. I cannot access the Vonage website via Comcast, but tested it with my AOL dial-up back-up and could. Truly evil.
I urge everyone to file a complaint with the FCC.

If you are in the Chicago area you cannot access the Vonage website via Comcast. I cannot access the website when connected with Comcast broadband, but if I unplug the cable and use a phone line and my back-up AOL dial-up, I can access the website. I have informed both Comcast and Vonage. Next the FCC.

I am in Chicagoland - but I detest SBC and haven't even had the phone lines checked when I moved here. I was trying to contact vonage to talk to them about it on my cell, but I have no phone number for them. Why would comcat block? What do they have to gain - they don't offer phone service in this area. . .

Post subject: Why Comcast is blocking
They are competing for the VoIP market here in Chicago. Apparently, they are not just messing with the VoIP service but now even blacking access to the Vonage website!
