argh! it's bad enough SBC controls the market on traditional phone service now we have comcast too? I wish we had some more alternatives...

I live in the Chicago area and have comcast. I have not been able to access the site for 2 days. My Voip phone works, but I cannont check voicemail. It keeps telling me my PIN is incorrect. When you call Vonage, all they can tell you is there site should be working.

I am a Chicago resident and is also having problems with the Vonage service and getting to the Vonage website. Although the Vonage router is behind my primary router, usually a power cycle of the router, modem, switch ect. will resolve the issue. However the service is down now for three days and the phone light comes on sporadically. If anyone is experiencing the same issue and have a solution please post

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Comcast is screwing around with Vonage, both in the actual transmission of phone service as well as access to the Vonage website.

I had an extensive conversation with a Vonage tech several weeks ago regarding this problem, and the ONLY conclusion we could reach after several hours of troubleshooting was that Comcast was intentionally blocking access and service.

When I called Comcast to complain the rep I talked to barely disguised his disdain for Vonage, and was VERY cryptic in his denials that Comcast was to blame for my Vonage problems. I will definitely be looking for high speed alternatives to Comcast, regardless of whether I stay with Vonage or not...

The guy I talked to at Comcast about being denied access to Vonage.com was utterly horrified at what his company had apparently done. (We trouble-shooted it together and he was convinced) I then declared that it had to be felonious, but I was in massive ignorance. From the FCC decisions I have read thus far, it seems it is allowing this evil. WRITE YOU CONGRESSMEN AND SENATORS! Tell the FCC that ISPs must be barred from denying access to competitive Internet content!!!

This just found: FCC case No. 05-151, issued 9/23/05 says:

I have been on the phone with Comcast upper level support, and am currently working on it with them. They did say it seems to be only the midwest, Ill let everyone know what happens

I live in St. Paul, MN and am having the same problems here. I have been unable to connect to the Vonage website for two days.

I am also having a problem with outbound calls. The outbound audio is so choppy, the person on the receiving end can't understand me, but when they call back (thank goodness for caller ID), the conversation is perfectly clear both ways.

It also seems that my voicemail password has been reset somehow, but I cannot access the Vonage website to change it.

I guess I should also note that I have comcast 6 meg service, too.

Anyone have any ideas?

I am from Michigan, using Comcast, and having the same problem. I cannot believe this!! I cannot access my voicemail (wrong passcode??) and I cannot get to any Vonage website, which is how I found my way here. I can't believe Comcast would do this - that is so wrong. I am NOT paying 95 bucks a month to go through this crap!
