You are right, my mistake on saying the web site is down. I was able to bring up the
Vonage
web site when I took remote control of another machine not on comcast.
Has comcast been know to block the
Vonage
web site in the past?

Comcast told me that
Vonage
was doing the blocking.
hmm, why would they block Comcast ISP users?
Any thoughts?

I spoke to a
Vonage
rep and a Comcast rep. The
Vonage
rep had me run some route tracing from the command prompt and email him the results.
Comcast seemed oblivious to any issues ever with Comcast/Vonage customers. Funny, they could pull up vonage.com just fine.
BTW, I'm in the Chicago suburbs. Anybody in other parts of the country with Comcast having problems pulling up
vonage.com
or is it just a local problem?

Post subject: Vonage site down for 24-hours in Chicago
Does anyone have reliable information as to why the
Vonage
Administration Site is off the net?
I am in contact with a reporter from the Chicago Sun Times that is doing an investigative report on the troubles which Comcast and
Vonage
customers are plagued with. If this is anything more than a routine outage for service and upgrades, we would like to know about the facts pertaining to the outage.
The more facts we have, the better the chance of the story actually causing the action required to correct the many issues Comcast and
Vonage
customers are having.
Time is of the essence due to many
people are giving up
on the
Vonage
service due to the troubles which they believe may never be resolved.
It is my desire to see
Vonage
allowed the chance to compete in the telephony arena with the big players that keep getting bigger. We, consumers of the world deserve a choice to pick the best provider for the level of service we desire.

I was going to install
Vonage
via the emailed instructions, but can't get into the website. And yes, I, too, am a Comcast customer. Is comcast actually blocking the website. in four years of Comcast broadband, i have never been blocked from a website unless Comcast was down, and then, of course, there's no internet at all. If this is true, it's shocking and evil.

I have had
Vonage
for a little over a year now. Initially I lived in an apartment in the Chicago suburbs and I never had a single problem - my mother had it in the DC suburbs and it was out so much she finally got rid of it last fall. We both have comcast cable. Last fall, I moved to a house a few blocks away and have had trouble with
Vonage
ever since. Since I use my cell phone more and hate SBC even more, I've decided to stick with
Vonage
even if it doesn't work all the time because it's way cheaper and much less aggrevating than the alternative. Besides, the voice mails come in just fine and anyone who knows me, knows they should call my cell phone if they really want to get in touch with me.

I think it would be best if this topic was discussed in this current thread:
