Been having real problems for months. Vonage tier 1,2,3 engineers could not resolve. i HAVE A CUSTOMER IN THE TELEPHONY BIZ SAY HE RESEARCHED IT AS A 2.4 MHZ PROBLEM WITH BOTH DATA AND VOICE FIGHTING FOR BANDWITH. ANYBODY ELSE HAVE THIS ISSUE?????????

It has nothing to do with bandwidth, rather it's entirely to do with the radio spectrum. Wireless internet/networking operates on the 2.4Ghz range. Your Motorola phone also operates in this range. Basically, you're trying to park 2 cars in the same space. Sometimes you can get away with it and the two devices will play nicely, but other times, the phones or network will totally overpower the other devices and you'll be left with poor results.

Best bet is to pick up a cheap 900Mhz phone or 5.8Ghz phones. The Uniden TRU-8xxx series phones are a forum favorite. Another option is to disable the wireless internet if you want to keep the phones.

This problem will exist regardless of who your phone company is.

I AGREE. MY ISSUE IS THAT Vonage NEVER ONCE TOLD ME GET RID OF THE 2.4 i TOLD THEM OVER AND OVER THATS WHAT I HAD AND NOT EVEN THE ENGINEERS KNEW!!!!!!!!!!!

The problem isn't with Vonage, the problem is with your network & phone arrangement. I believe you also have unresolved issues with your caps lock key as well. The Vonage engineers didn't tell you about it, but I will.

Sorry about that. Got my caps fixed....

I agree, but months have gone by and no resolve..... until a third party explained to me 2.5 was it. I explained to Vonage from day one back in November 2005 documented--- 51 calls ago, (603 minutes or 10hrs+) . Everytime over and over on each call.

When I went into Office Max and Staples today they knew all about the problems with the 2.5 as well.

What's up with Vonage support???????????? I should have left along time ago Anybody else experiencing this kind of support Rolling Eyes ?

As has been explained to you, this has absolutely NOTHING to do with Vonage. You would have exactly the same problems if you were using a plain old analog telephone line instead of Vonage. Its not up to Vonage support to fix things which have nothing to do with Vonage. They won't troubleshoot your cable TV if its not working either.

You can also try setting either your WiFi router or your cordless phone to use a different channel. Some have reported that the interferance can be resolved or reduced by changing channels.

If I was Vonage I would want understand anything that might be interfering with my QOS. I would surely want to cut down on trouble calls, and try my best to and satisfy every customer.

Everyone out there isn't a techy like you. Picture your 75 year old father or mother trying to get dial tone cheap and having these problems.

Oh by the way... I had the 2.4 Ghz phone installed for 14 months prior w/o any problems. This all happened when I switched to Vonage.

This issue has nothing to do with QoS and bandwidth, which is probably why Vonage techs were confused/unhelpful with the issue. This is a straight radio interference issue, caused by your networking & phone equipment. Vonage has nothing to do with it.

Nope, this problem happened when you brought a 2.4Ghz wireless router into the picture.. This would have happened if it was a Vonage router, Linksys, Netgear, or anyone else's router, even if it wasn't a Voip router.

Easy for you guys to see. Why did I not have any problems when I had a copper line, 2.4Ghz phone and the Linksys G running for 14 months?

Vonage should know this simple issue and inform its customers prior to installation. There are alot of 2.4Ghz phone being mass marketed in all the retail stores. I explained to Vonage day one that I was using a 2.4Ghz set. They continued to tell me that wasn't the problem.

I'm glad I switched to Time Warner Digital phone service. I have them for Cable and at least I can get a body on the phone, and get my issue resolved, within a few seconds compared with the waste on time I have spent with Vontage, over and over again. A technician will even come to my house the same day to resolve any problems I might have at no cost to me. They are 7 miles away. Its crystal clear and secure!
