I just ordered Vonage on the 15th. My telephone adapter is scheduled to arrive on the 23rd (live on the west coast).
I logged into my Vonage account on their web site and noticed my billing cycle begins on the 15th, yet I can't use the service until the 23rd.
I e-mailed the Vonage billing dept. and asked if I could get my billing date changed. Response was "no" and cited the terms of agreement (fond memories of POTS).
Am I wrong, or does it seem strange to have to pay for service before it's installed (or can be installed)? I realize it's just a week, but it's the principle of the thing.
Even phone and cable companies don't begin billing you the day you order service. You begin paying for service once they come out and install it. If you ordered standard phone service and it took 2 weeks for them to install it, should you have to pay 2 weeks for service you didn't receive? |

Call back and ask again. The reason they normally use is that you can go to the website and temporaily send the incoming calls to any number (depending on what plan determines how many minutes).
In addition, you can still use the voice mail. |

Also, I believe they are still giving away the second month of service free right? When I ordered service I was told this was partly to compensate users who take a few weeks getting set up without allowing scammers to order one month's service then cancel without paying. |
