After managing to get almost every uk area code available to choose your local number from, it seems like they may suddenly start to get less and less.

Since the reduction in price to £7.99 a month, We thought we might try the service again.

Checking last week to see if there were numbers available for 01224 Aberdeen (yes 01224 was available)it would be a case of popping off to Staples or Comet to buy either a Linksys PAP2 or a RT3P2 adapter.

On Friday 10th March 01224 suddenly had vanished.

On querying this at the customer service line I was told "we have no more numbers available for that area - we have run out of them"

Apparently they only had numbers from 01224-443100 to 01224-443159 and they're all gone, with no immediate plans to get anymore.

I was also told that this will happen in other areas over the coming weeks too as in some areas they only have about 20 numbers available so it would seem that the area codes available will start to decrease.

Could this be the reason for the drop in price? Because after achieving almost blanket coverage, there starting to reduce available numbers.??

There could be a legitimate reason for not having anymore Aberdeen area codes.

I believe that Aberdeen is a conservation area, this means there are limited numbers available to any telephone provider. Telephone providers are only allowed to order 50 numbers at a time. It is likely that Vonage will have more available soon.

For those of you in the far north of Scotland, especially Aberdeen, we just wanted to let you know that Aberdeen codes are now available again.

Unfortunately Aberdeen is a conservation area and there was a delay in between ordering and availability of the codes.

We try to manage our inventory of codes as best as possible. In this case, we fell short and we apologise to those who wanted the codes.

They are now available so please feel free to sign up!
