Post subject: Small business use of Vonage services and phone systems
We have a small business with a small team (currently 5 people but will grow to some managable number over time). The team is distributed over the country. What I'd like to be able to do is to give the appearance of a centrally located group... a "Central number" with extensions perhaps and a central Voice mail system with auto attendant features so that from our customers perspective there is a number to call. I'd like to use the
Vonage
service to provide the actual connections for the individuals so each user would have the
Vonage
service but still be able to have a central system of some kind with a company number where calls can be forwarded or routed based on the person you are trying to reach.
I don't think that the
Vonage
service by itself would provide what I need so I'm wondering if anyone has similar requirements and has a design they are willing to share or if anyone knows of simple (low cost) SOHO voice systems that are compatible with
Vonage
or could be used to build a system that does what I need.
Thanks in advance or the advice/help.

Post subject: I can help you
i know exactly what u need.
in other words u want a cheap corporate appearence to your clients
go to
www.michigan-insurance.da.ru
and go to business services on the left there is a blue link called png. u get a 1800 number with ability to to have your clients press buttons to other messages total of 3 messages each to go to a seperate email account.
sounds like u need 2 accounts. you can also have forwarded to your
vonage
account. various price plans cheapest is the 2.50 amonth plan.
u get 1800 numer but does not need a seperate line to run on u get a new number. for 2.50 a month plus they bill you.u get charged 3.9 cents a minute. but i would just have them do the buttons to another message or rep then transfer to their number that way u save the most money.
anyway i can sign u up if u want give me a call at 1(248) 232-3025 ask for mr. coleman and tell him u are interested in the png.

Did you ever figure this out for your business?
I'm in the same situation and
vonage
does not seem to offer any business class service that meets even my most basic needs. I was thinking I could do it with an analog pbx in the office that would call out on another line to the individual people when their extension is pressed but this seems needlessly complicated.
If you have solved this problem I would be interested to hear your solution.

No, we have not solved the problem as of yet. The only answer so far involves forwarding calls thus requiring 2 lines ... not acceptable.
Sorry. I'll be happy to let you know if we come up with something more reasonable.
