Post subject: service changes, device changes, customer support won't help
Has anyone else tried what I did?...
Here's my story.
I activated a business account, then had a business fax number added. I decided that I would rather keep the
Vonage
router for another purpose and buy a staples adaptor for use inside the network.... After a week and several phone calls I finally had them add the numbers to the new device. They kept telling me they were on the new device but they were actually assigned to nothing or still assigned to the old router.
So, I finally get this and the company I am setting this up for tells me they want to switch the numbers around so the incoming fax number is the out going telephone number and visa versa. I call them, after going to three different techs I finally find someone who can make the change. I get a confirmation that it will be changed in two days. but it's been a week and all I see is a new phone line on the service and neither of my old numbers call.
Vonage
will not answer their customer service email and now I can't even call their tech support ("we are sorry but there is no one available to answer your call, good bye!")
Please, someone tell me this isn't normal. I know I should have told the company I am setting this up for to leave it alone but they pay me to make their computer system look the way they want it to and I have to deal with companies like
Vonage
when they just can't get it right.
I have to make them reverse a charge to a new line which I never asked them to add, then make the phone numbers I actually WANT have the correct service on them. (unlimited on one line, cheep fax on the other)
Please, someone tell me what I can do!
