PostPosted: Thu Mar 09, 2006 7:08 pm    Post subject: Old Vonage Adapter for New Line Reply with quote Back to top

I just sold my motorola vt1005v phone adapter on Ebay. The buyer told me that he needs me to email Vonage to unassign the phone adapter from my old account. I email it to Vonage but I didn't hear anything from Vonage yet. I called Vonage that it told me that I shouldn't sell it and it can't re-use for other person except me.

Can someone tell me how my buyer can use my phone adapter fro a new Line? Question

Thanks in advance!

In theory, adapters can be re-used, but in practice (and in the terms of service), Vonage states that they don't support used adapters. You can try calling up Vonage billing and see if you can get them to un-link the adapter from your account, but no guarantees.

Hi, VonageTPA.

I have called Vonage billing that it can't un-link the adapter from my account. I was told to give my account information to my buyer to active the adapter. I have sent my account information to the buyer. I hope it will work.

Thank you so much for your advice!

I don't think that was quite his advice. It sounds as if you'll now be paying for your buyer's phone service if Vonage can't unlink your account. I hope I'm wrong.

Oh no............ I don't want to pay for the buyer's phone bill. Sad
How can the buyer open his own account with my used adapter. Has anyone had any ideas?

Search the forum (hint, the magnifying glass over on the upper left hand side menu in the forum) for "used adapter" and see what comes up, then you can see how other people in your situation have made out.

I don't see why Vonage can't cancel that motorola's MAC number form your account. You will still be billed for service and your customer can order an account of his own and provide Vonage with this motorola's MAC number so they can associate it with his new account.

You will do the same when you get a new router or phone port/device. You will give Vonage the MAC number form the bottom of your new device.

===============
It also seems that Vonage will main tain more than one MAC number in your account

Walterose, Vonage said it can't remove the MAC # from my account and the buyer can't use the adapter for a new account. Sad

Thanks, Walterose.
