I'm afraid it's farewell to Vonage. I terminated my contract this am, after 3 months of usage.
There have been too many problems -
1. I've sent several e-mails off with proper and appropriate questions. I received the automatic reply that my message was received, and they would reply shortly. I never got a reply to any of them.
2. Very often when on a call, I suddenly was unable to hear from the person I called, but they could hear me. so, the call was lost. This was particularly irksome when I was on line with a tech support call to a company, and after waiting for 35 minutes to get through, we only spoke for about 30 seconds when I lost hearing them - but they could hear me. This occurred when the phone I was using was right at the main base station of my Uniden Cordless system.
3. The echo of my voice came and went regularly. I never knew when the echo would show up.
Right about when I decided to cancel Vonage, I got a mailing from BellSouth, with an offer I couldn't refuse for unlimited long distance. It doesn't have all the perks that Vonage had, but I didn't really need most of them. Caller ID and Call waiting are included here. The added cost to my main land line is about $15 a month. So, I'm back to only 2 lines, but that's all I need or want.
From what I read, and what I've experienced, I don;don't think that Vonage will survive, unless it's via selling out to one of the large phone companies - sad, but true.
