I'm very much into the "Internet free for everyone" thingy. I'd have an antenna on my roof, right now, broadcasting free WiFi for a mile. Unfortunately, my ISP is NOT so much into the "internet free for everyone" thingy, and my budget can't afford the kind of money they would want for a connection I could share.
Just waiting for Speakeasy to get in these parts. LOL.

Wow guys, I am a member of a great many forums but never seen such drive to help one another as I have seen here. Thank you all, kindly, for your remarks.
I have tried a mix of G, B and MIX and they all produced the same results. I did not mention phone clarity as I have not even got to that part yet, I was concerned with the loss of bandwith and frequest internet drops. All of that has faded by disabling wireless. I have also tried removing QoS completely and still no major results.
I am going to try a different channel as suggested. Will be back soon.
Darrell_G and NateHoy - much appreciated!

Hmmmmm, interesting. Changing the channels resulted in the previous manner, low bandwidth and within 1 minute I was dropping my internet connection. Literally, if I select wireless, I will lose my internet connection. Seems to be an issue with the router, now it is either flawed in design or I have a bad fruit growing here.

Johnny, if you purchased the router from a retailer (i.e. Best Buy, Circuit City) within the last 30 days return it and exchange it for another. If you purchased it through
Vonage
, see if you can exchange it for another...I'm sure there will be some expense involved on your end though.
You may also try to see if there are any updated drivers for your Network adapter card.

Roger that, sounds like sound advice concerning the drivers. I'd hate to have to send everything back and wait, who knows how long, for a returned product It may be my only hope.

I don't think the problem is a specifically defective router, I think the problem is that the entire WRTP54G series of router is not going to cut the mustard for you.
I boinked around for almost two months, wasting countless hours and losing sleep, watching the WAF (*) drop day by day, trying to make my WRTP54G work for me, under not-too-demanding circumstances. It's a darned good thing I cut my hair short or I would have torn out every last strand!
<subliminal whisper>Buy a real router. You won't regret it.</subliminal whisper>
(*) = "WAF" (acronym): "Wife Acceptance Factor", a highly critical measure of the level of acceptance of a new technology by one's Significant Other. Affects many other factors in life.

Hahahahahahaha, roger that! I agree with you NateHoy, I will not be returning this blasted thing, mainly for not wasting my time with the returns and all that. Poking around the internet I have come to similiar situations. Anyways, I will be buying a real one and have a few price quoted for me. Thank you all, everything is going well, good connection, clear sound quality, just no damn wireless. Oh well, will continue to use my neighbor's.
