Have had Vonage for a few months now and have been experiencing this problem right from the get go... Over the past few weeks it has gotten much worse.
My setup: RTP300-VD Motorola SB 5100 Cable Modem Adelphia HIgh Speed Internet (5 Mb/s down, 800kbps up) Win XP Pro
Cable Modem -> plugs into RTP300 -> which plugs in to computer.
Problem: My issue is NOT with Vonage phone service. My connection has been great! No choppy audio and not a dropped call (knock on wood). The problem is that after being away from my computer for a few hours, I will get a "This page cannot be displayed error" in Internet Explorer when I try to surf the web.
While I am not able to surf the web, my Vonage phone still works - I simply can't navigate to any web pages. At first when this happened, I would refresh the page a few times, or navigate to another page (sometimes I would have to navigate to 3 or 4 other pages). After a few refreshes, or hitting other pages, my browser would start "working" again.
This issue has gotten worse. Now when I am away from my machine for more than a few hours, I must power down my computer, Vonage adapter and cable modem. After waiting a small amount of time and powering everything back up, I am again able to surf the web.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

Start by disabling the DNS proxy in the router:

Also, do you use P2P applications such as BitTorrent? |
