I noticed the other day my PSAP had been added to the list of E911 enabled PSAPs. I tried dialing 933 but got the same old message saying I must provide my name and address etc.
I sent Vonage an email asking them why this was the case and got this response: Please be advised that your 911 dialing was entered into our system on 3/02/06. It will take 48 to 72 hours to be fully operational. If you have any problems with this service once it is activated, please notify us immediately.
This is weird since I had already activated 911 dialing from the Vonage dashboard and the PSAP has been E991 enabled for Vonage for at least 3 weeks.
Now when I dial 933 I get this message ... Intrans 911 is currently enabled for this phone, you 911 calls are router to a local emergency center you may need to verify your address and phone number to the agent .....
Any nobody know what Intrans (or at least that's that it sounded like) is? |

Are you sure it's not saying:
Enhanced 911 is currently enabled...
That's what I get, and should mean 911 routes directly the the right place with your name, phone and location info. |

When I call 933 it says that 911 calling is enabled and I may need to provide my address and phone number, etc... So I would assume I do NOT have Enhanced 911.
But I posted in another thread - http://www.vonage-forum.com/ftopic3841-0-asc-60.html - about actually calling 911 and how my call was routed to my local police dispatch and all my information came up on their screen.
I guess 933 is just telling you that some type of 911 is enabled on your phone... but the only way to know for absolute sure is to call 911 and find out.
If you do this, I would recommend calling a non-emergency number first in a non-peak time and ask permission to try a test call... |

When I dial 933 it says "International Calling Has Been Disabled"...I sent them an email a month ago but havent heard nothing back..
I did received the same email:
"Please be advised that your 911 dialing was entered into our system on 3/02/06. It will take 48 to 72 hours to be fully operational. If you have any problems with this service once it is activated, please notify us immediately"
Thought that maybe they responded and fixed it ,but still the same recording.... Found another provider that has e911 just like the landline thats included in the price so Im gonna give it a try and see how that goes. |
