Post subject: Using a VOIP phone on Vonage
My company has several Pingtel xpressa
Voip
phones we would like to use, instead of going through an ATA device. I know
Vonage
does not support this setup, but I would like to play around with it.
Does anyone know where I could find some information on how to set this up? Is anyone else out there doing this? How much effort would it take to make this work?
Thanks for any suggestions or help!!

Not in this lifetime.
Vonage
does MAC level authentication -- so unless you could begin to get your PingTel phone to 'act' like your MTA you are SOL I'm afraid.
Broadvoice supports a BYOB concept for other ATA devices however they only support IAD and not end user telephones.

Not really what I wanted to hear, but it was what I wanted to know. Thanks.
