I bought Prestige 2000W unlocked WiFi SIP phone, which I hope to connect to my existing Vonage account. For setup I used 216.115.25.198:5061 Proxy (and Outbound proxy) address and port. The phone acquires dynamic IP address from DHCP, but does not go any further. I will appreciate it so much if anybody can advise me how to set it up. I also used my existing Vonage phone number in the account setup section (I included leading 1). I have never received user ID or password from Vonage, with exception of Vonage web account login, so I did not enter any. |

Any device needs a SIP password to work with almost any service. Without that, anybody who knew your phone number could use your account. A device will not connect without a password.
To use this phone with Vonage, you would need to get a separate soft phone account, where you would have your SIP user name and password. It will not work with a primary Vonage account as those only work with Vonage provided, locked devices. |
