Will Vonage work with wireless internet? Can anybody explain how it works? Or can somebody give me a step by step procedure? Thank You! |

I have the RTP300 connected to my existing WIRED router. My WAP54G Linky wireless access pont is also connected to the WIRED router.
My RTP300 is ONLY used for Vonage service. I could have replaced my wired router with the RTP300 but I chose not to do so. It saved me alot of pain, I believe.
If you don't presently have wireless internet, you could probably get the wireless router that Vonage offers and that would handle all your internet/broadband phone activity.
Personally, I like my present setup. I don't like the idea of one router handling all the phone/internet activity.
I don't really speak from any base of technical knowledge here, so if anyone else in the forum wants to weigh in on this, please feel free!

Dustin -
I assume you are referring to using a WISP (Wireless ISP).
The answer is, generally, yes. Vonage will work, to a varying degree, on all Internet connection types. The key issues are speed and delays.
I would check your connection using www.testyourvoip.com and post the detailed results back in this thread, and we can look at them and give you some idea of what to expect in terms of Vonage quality. |

I totally agree! I initially started out w/the RT31p2 w/a wireless network and began to have phone connection issues. I to related this to the dual capacity of the adatper. Got a PAP2 at the first of the year and have not had any issues period. Nothing changed in my setup. |
