Hello, I am new to the forum. I tried doing a search to address the problem I am having and had no luck. I have just installed next alarm with the vonage service and so far the install appears to be ok. I am, however, not able to connect to the abn adapter and get a confirmation light (green phone light in abn). The panel keeps giving a "comm failure" error and cannot seem to fix it. I am trying to find out if anyone has any idea if I have to make any changes to the vonage router for next alarm to see the phone line. Thanks in advance |

Hi,
I had the same problem when I installed the ABN but my problem was that I didnt unplug the phone line from the panel to the router. Once I unplugged the phone line from the router and placed it into the ABN and made sure the ethernet was connected securely from the ABN to the router everything fell into place. It took about 5 minutes for the ABN to kick in and then I logged onto the website to check and see if it registered any alarms and it didnt, so I set off a panic alarm and within moments the website showed the alarm had been triggered. Its been working ever since, hope this helps you out.

After you connected the ABN adapter to your LAN, did the green phone light turn solid after a while or is it still flashing? There seem to be some unconfigured adapters in circulation. My adapter didn't come pre-configured and after going back and forward with NextAlarm, they sent me instructions on how to configure it for their service. If you open a browser and type in the IP address of the device you can check if the SIP configuration is present and if the device registered with NextAlarm. If the device is properly configured all the config pages should be password protected, if not, I can send you the steps on how to get it configured. |
