Post subject: Dish Network 322
I want to get
Vonage
or some
VOIP
phone service but I heard that it doesn't work with Dish Network to dial out.
I have a Dish 322 receiver
Linksys WRT54 wireless router and COX high speed internet
Will this setup work? I don't think there are any menus in the receiver to enter a *9.
Thanks
kshaw

Vonage
works fine on my DishNetwork 501 receivers. The display of the caller ID on the TV is nice feature.

I have the Dish Network ViP622 HD DVR receiver. It works fine with my
Vonage
, and I didn't have to do anything special to get it to work. Worked perfect from the start as soon as I hooked it up.

I have two Dish Network DVRs (a 501 and a 508). I have configured them both to use the "wireless phone jack" option and added the *99 prefix under the phone line setup. I have found that the connection rate when they "phone home" is not 100% but they do eventually get through. I can tell this by looking at the outgoing call activity on the
Vonage
website. I see multiple calls to the same 1-800 number that is Dish Network.
You can verify that a sucessful connection was made by looking at the diagnostic screen. Hit Menu - Menu (hit it twice) and you will get a special diagnostic screen. I think screen 2 on this diag shows the last connection date and time.
