Had the same thing happen to me. Came back from vacation only to find I had no dial tone, but did have an internet connection. Neighbors said that we had a bad storm with the associated power surges. Called customer service (on hold only 5 min), explained the problem and he switched me over to phone port 2 which worked. As a test he tried to switch it back to 1 which now confirmed that port 1 was fried. Switched back to port 2 and been fine ever since. I would call back customer service explain the problem and ask them to try to switch you over to phone port 2. That may solve the issue. |

JohnM720: I'd encourage you to try to find out how the storms caused a problem... I'm assuming you're using inside wiring...if so, there's something not quite grounded properly on that circuit (or something still attached to the phone co) if a storm blew out a port on the router. |
