Thought it might be helpful to share what has been a positive experience to date with Vonage.

I ordered Vonage service on 2/2/06. Here is how things went:

- Equipment received (RPT300) within 3 days of order.
- Simply connected the RPT300 to my Linksys router, plugged a phone into the RPT300 and it worked (was still using the temporary number). Literally that was it. I never even opened the instructions. Setup was intuitively obvious.
- My phone number ported on 2/23 from Comcast without a problem.
- I disconnected my house phone wiring from the street and plugged the RPT300 into the house phone wiring and all the phones worked.
- Voicemail, call forwarding, and simultaneous ring all work great. Voicemail is simple. Message lights work on phones.
- Quality of sound is noticeably better than what we had with Comcast.

The only negative I could share is that I did need to call support (a function that turned out to be behaving as designed) and found it very frustrating due to a significant communication barrier (sounded like they may have been providing from India).

All in all I'd have to give Vonage very high marks for how fast the equipment came; the ease of setup; and the quality and features of this service for the $.

One question, why did you need to call support? Also, if you have a real problem and you get India, tell them you need to speak with someone in Advanced Install, or if its not a technical problem, Advanced billing

Reason for call to support: I beleive it was a day or so after ordering the service and we missed an important call that got routed to Vonage vmail which I was not yet checking since I had only just ordered the service and my number was not yet ported. No big deal and understandable once someone explained why this happened and that it is normal behavior. I just setup simulring on the number and had it ring our cells as well. Note to Vonage - seems this happens to many new customers - would be a good idea to include an explanation of this up-front to new customers so they know to expect this. Would probably save a lot of calls to support.

Thanks very much for the tip on getting to advanced support.
