Post subject: Will SBC come and disconnect their power
Hello,
I just recently moved into a new apartment building. I looked at the SBC termination box and there is nothing tagged that has my apartment number. SBC did tag most of the other apartment numbers in my building. Because of this I have no idea what I need to disconnect. I know SBC is still connected because when I plug a telephone into one of my phone jacks I get power.
What do you guys suggest I do? Will SBC come out and disconnect it if I ask them?
Thanks.

No, they won't. You do not own the demarcation point in an apartment, and landlords do not look kindly seeing you snooping in those boxes. There is, however, a workaround. Read this post, and let me know what you find.
