I'm seeing very poor network performance, my router shows the above message on the Voice screen. testyourvoip.com result is 3.1, which is lower than normal (it's never very good). Any idea what's up? I'd hate to reboot the router during a firmware upgrade |

Do your scores improve significantly if you plug your computer directly into your modem? If not, then you may be looking at a problem with your internet service. How are your speeds?
As for firmware upgrades, I think the power light flashes on your adapter during an upgrade. Check your operator's manual. You're right that you shouldn't interrupt an upgrade. |

I receive the same error message on my RT31P2 all the time.
Poor network performance, no dialtone, the above error message. After a few seconds it goes away and everything is back to normal.
To test I have placed a router between the cable modem and RT32P2. When the RT32P2 is displaying the error I do still have internet connectivity.
My guess the RT32P2 is having a fault of some type and resets itself.
I am assuming that since I have been a vonage customer for 1.75 years they will want me to purchase a new adapter....I really am not in the mood right now to do that.
anyone else have any thoughts on the error? |

OK, but do your testyourvoip scores improve with that configuration? I suspect that you're right about the RT32P2 going down, but a bit more experimentation may lay the issue to rest. |
