I've never had anything but full-duplex operation with Vonage (in the week or so I've been using it.) Sometimes I can't hear the person on the other end speak but that's because I'm talking over them and ignoring their attempts to reply. It's a phenomenon known as "ass-plex"- when one person on the call is being an ass. I've been known to exhibit this same phenomenon in forums, too.... Vonage has the full duplex part of things worked out quite well. Don't fear the half-plex with Vonage because it's not an issue. -Victim |

I was using a headset with a microphone attached to the headset. However, it is not the USB kind, but the plain old jack into my notebook computer's seaker phone jack and the microphone jet. Are you saying that make the conversation half-duplex?

Many laptops only have half-duplex sound cards on them. I'm seeing some of the newer laptops coming with full-duplex sound cards, but not all of them. The USB headsets usually are full-duplex, at least the better ones are. |

Now I understand my half-duplex problem.
Thanks for the info
