I have read everything I can find for my fax issues. I do not know how to change my bandwidth. I am new to all of these issues. Believe it or not, I have Brother MFC 5840CN and have used it for two years with Vonage with no problems. Over the past two months I have not been able to send faxes to long distances. Local fax is fine, regional states around me are ifne, but go from NV to TX and it's not going to send. What is a DSL filter and where do I get one. I must have my fax and I am sending 10-20 pages at a time. |

After spending many trouble shooting hours and time on the phone with Vonage tech support, I have found that the secret sauce to make FAXing with Vonage work is to:
1) Set the printer in over-sea's mode 2) Use *99
With that said, I still have trouble Faxing to any EFAX trunk telephone numbers. For whatever reason, this brotha fax machine ain't like'n the freebie fax numbers. All other faxes work fine...even with large multi-page sends (9 to 12 pages at a time).
Hope that helps.

I used my Brother IntelliFAX 775 for several years when I had a business Vonage account with their dedicated FAX line. Later, I was forced by company cutbacks to ratchet down to a residential phone line without the dedicated FAX line, but I used the same ATA in both instances. Now, I've noticed that I can't send or receive FAXes, even though I have the Bandwidth Saver set to highest quality. I've also tried overseas mode to no avail.
I don't believe that Vonage residential phone lines work with FAX machines. The support people say they allow FAXing on all Vonage lines, but it doesn't seem to be true. Most FAX machines require a solid PSTN (old analog phone) line, and FAXing through a Voip line is not as continuous as using acoustic tones through a PSTN line. |

Well, internet faxing software is now available where you can send and receive faxes over the internet. Since the service runs over the internet, there will be no long distance charges. extremefax.com |
