From initial sign up to completion is 33 days. This includes one rejection by the carrier.
From some of the time frames I have seen here, I am happy with that.

33 Calendar days. Of course I do understand from a post here that SBC is fairly fast on this. They WERE my carrier.
good luck! |

That's good to hear.
I'm at 28 calendar days and waiting. It really ****, actually.
I regret postponing the LNP authorization for two weeks while I tested Vonage. If I hadn't waiting, I'd be up and could cancel that lousy Bell service already. |

Yeahh!!! I spoke too quickly. This very morning my wife called me from our Vonage line to tell me that the other Bell phone line isn't working -- cordless phones all say "Line in Use"
Sure enough, I call her back on the old phone number and it's now ringing on the Vonage phone!!!
Can't wait to get home and mess with my phone wiring to get this thing working throughout the house. |

plyons, I did the same thing (waited to test Vonage before authorizing number transfer), and I have the same regret - wish I would have done it right away! In my case I waited a month, but this was mainly due to waiting for MCI to send me a new bill so I could fax it to Vonage as required.
As of now, my LOA was received March 25, and Transfer Sent To Carrier was March 26. So I am hopeful that sometime next week...........??!!
What are other people's experience with MCI and phone number transfer? |

LOA was received March 25 Transfer Sent To Carrier March 26 Transfer accepted April 20 Transfer complete April 21
FYI: My former carrier was MCI, and there is no dial tone in my land line now, so I am assuming that my service with MCI is terminated. 28 days from LOA submission to Transfer Complete seems pretty reasonable, and I am now a full-fledged and satisfied Vonage customer! |
