If I initiate a 3-way call and the number of the third party is busy or does not answer how do I hang up or cancel that call and go back to the initial connection with just myself and the second party? |

As tested on a WRTP54G:
Just hang up. Your phone will immediately ring, and when you answer you will be reconnected to the original call. |

As tested on Linksys RT31P2.
Just hang up does the trick. The phone rings immediately and the original connection is there when I answer.
Thanks "NateHoy" |

Some family business has occasioned the need to use 3-way calling so after finding out how to cancel, I spent a few minutes testing. Net-net, everything works as advertised.
I used our Panasonic cordless for Vonage and our two prepay cell phones (both on Verizon infrastructure) for the tests.
Here are the results:
Call initiation: • The first connection can either be one I've originated or one I've received. • To add the second connection: flash, dial tone, dial, and once call is answered flash to join the two calls. • If you decide you don't want to join the two calls, simply hang up instead of hitting flash. Your phone will immediately ring, and when you answer you will be reconnected to the original call.
Call termination: • Either of the connected parties can simply hang up to terminate their connection to the 3-way. • You can drop the second connection by hitting flash. • Once the call has reverted to a single connection, you can re-initiate a new second connection. |
