I saw the new VTech 2-phone system at Office Depot and would welcome hearing about any experiences with it. |

VTech makes a lot of products, could you be more specific? In general, I think VTech makes cheap crap, not worth owning, but I am a bit of a phone snob. |

VTech's less-than-stirling reputation is my concern. Unless they have changed, I'll probably consider a different vendor. And, I'll try to come up with a part number. |

What type of cordless phone setup was it? The Vonage thing? If so, skip it and get a Uniden TRU8xxx series phone and a regular Vonage adapter (sent from Vonage). Then you can use any phone you like with it and can also send faxes. With the VTech IP phones, there's no external port, so you're stuck with using their phones only for Vonage. |

I have the V-Tech wireless system and 3 phones (I bought an extra phone). I use my Linksys Wireless router WRT54G.
I was concerned myself because I find V-Tech to be less then impressive as phones, but these things work great. It was easy to set up and I've had no problem with the phones themselves. I like the phone directory which allows you to program your phone book with one phone and it appears on all 3.
I can only say what my experience is, and with this system it's been a good one. |

I also have been using the VTech IP8100-2 and it's been great. I was using a Motorola ATA with a Uniden cordless system. The Uniden got on my nerves after about 1 year of use when the charging contacts on the main unit refused to consistently connect with the phone (I had to finally prop a piece of cardboard behind the phone to make sure it had a good connection to charge). The VTech system has worked well for me. The phones are full featured and sound great. I had a problem with initial setup, however, after some time on the phone with support it was resolved. No problems since. |

I have always thought the Vonage Vtech has had good voice quality I have never had any issues with mine. Only issue is if you want to connect to you wall wiring with Vonage you will have no luck no phone ports (RJ11). Also will one use one phone number which means no fax line or secondary line. |

Some poeple like Uniden over Vtech, I had the opposite, sure Vtech can be crap if you buy a cheap model but their higher end stuff has been excellant for me. I got a $120 uniden 2.4ghz system and had issues with poor battery life and interference from my wifi although my old vtech 2.4 had no problems with the router. I got the 8100 Vonage phone and have been very happy with it so far. With rebates it can be muchcheaper than buying a stanalone cordless set. |
