1. PLeasanton, California 2. Comcast Cable 3. 4.0 to 8.0 Mbps Downloads depending on usage and 384Kbps Uploads 4. RCA DCM245 5. WRTP54G - Firmware 1.00.18 6. Modem---->Vonage Adapter-->PC
7. Ok here goes.... hard to explain but ok i had the RT31P2 and a wireless router and i wanted to combine everything into 1 box so i bought the WRTP54G. Everything was working GREAT with my old Vonage adapter. Now when someone calls me i get SHORT ring tones on my phone, and also it takes a full 3-5 seconds for my phone to get a dial tone or to answer a call when someone calls me...I have a Uniden 5.8GHz Cordless phone but i also tried it with a corded phone and does the same thing. The actual calls themselfs are great quality but the other things just bug me...Any ideas? Think the firmware upgrade would help? and how would i go about pushing an upgrade? if tried the unplug and wait but nothing yet
NateHoy can you please email me at libertov@gmail.com i have a few questions for you regarding the 3rd party upgrade firmware that might be available for my router. Here are the last 5 digits of my serial # 30075 if that helps...

you can't put 3rd party firmware on a Vonage router. as for the firmware upgrade, disable wireless on the wrtp, power down and back up. hopefully it will update its firmware. this was an early bug and you won't have to do it once it upgrades. it may take a couple times to get you from .18 to .60 though. you can try manually upgrading the firmware with this link: http://www.vonage-forum.com/ftopic9581.html but substitute this link for the firmware: http://httpconfig.vonage.net/wrt-11.1.0-r021-1.00.60-r060123.img if all else fails call Vonage and ask them to push the firmware to you. they may say "you have .60" because they show what you should have, not necessarily what you do have. |

I wouldn't judge any of the TI boxes based on the 1.00.18 firmware (didn't even know they let them out with that on it!) Once you get 1.00.60 on there, it'll run MUCH more smoothly. |
