Is there a way a customer can log into the administrative part of there router to change the settings by themselves ( lowering packet size ect...)
Or is this considered a no no ? |

heh, that would take care of probably at least 40% of the posts on this board. there's a reason you haven't seen anyone tell people how to do it throughout the posts I assume you've been reading. fwiw, I just left Vonage for a competitor (hard to pass up $14/month with a lot more features) and I now have complete control over all of those settings (volume, packet size, etc etc) |

ahhh ok, I was just wondering because each time theres a service issue posted with comcast on here my phone starts disconnecting and stays that way after whatever is being done is completed.
And each time numerous calls to tech support until i reach a certian one know how to change my router to compensate......
was wanting to bypass all that ... oh well, worth a try |

For whatever reason Vonage has chosen to turn off the web access to the phone adapter. I've let them know I'm not happy about it. I'm not ready to abandon ship over it but I think it's bogus.
You may still be able to get SNMP to cough up some info. |

web access and specific setting access are two different animals. web access is available on all of the Vonage devices I know of with the exception of the pap2 and the phones. |

I imagine the reason it's completely disabled is the fact that it's not anything but a TA. there are really no user definable settings (that Vonage will let you access) so why have it at all? (don't get me wrong, I can think of several things I would want to see on the pap2's web interface, but I'm trying to guess what vonage's reasoning is) |
