hmm... I have to wonder which options you guys are entering on the phone tree. I've always gotten through to a level 2 tech when I use Tech support > trouble placing and receiving calls > trouble with incoming and outgoing calls.

I've gotten both level 1 and level 2 tech support following those menu options. My volume always gets goofed up and have to call once a month to have it adjusted, which only level 2 and above can do. I called last month and got level 2 immediately, called two days ago and got India - "Can I know your name?", "Can I know your telephone number?". Can you know it? I guess...

I'm glad the India CS worked for you guys, for it did not!

Well despite the fact that I've signed up in January, and that I've already been billed for my second month, I don't even consider myself a Vonage customer yet.

The law firm that I work at uses has been using the Vonage service for 2 years now, and the service works fine! But they never had to call CS...

Can you all believe that I haven't received my device yet!!!! It has been well over a month since I placed the order. Yep! That's is not a typo! Nothing, nada so far.

Calling the customer service (in India) has been usual for me, since I've called them about 10 times already. But they didn't do me any good. I suppose this kind of problem is out of their league?!

The worst is the second level customer service. The wait is a killing!

I have had the same 1 hour plus experience on hold for the second level customer service. And unfortunately, I've had that sad experience 3 times already.

So, let's just hope that the Vonage service proves to be better than its customer service.

Meanwhile I'm still waiting for my UTStarcom F1000B to arrive. Today, March 8th, they told me (again) that was going to receive it in 2 business days.

After I set up the Vonage router, I was unable to make any calls. I could get a dial tone, but the calls were dropped each and every time. When I called customer service using my valuable cell phone minutes, I was placed on hold for 5 – 30 minutes. Those time estimates probably would have been longer, but after 30 minutes I gave up waiting. There were other times when I called and simply got a voice recording informing me that no one was available to take my call.

I found the customer care representatives difficult to understand, and on the several occasions when they transferred my call, the call was dropped, and I would have to call back and explain why I called in the first place. When I was transferred to a customer care representative I could understand (ie, not based in another country) she was not helpful and down right rude.

It was not until my credit card was incorrectly charged twice that my frustrations reached their maximum levels. On the two occasions this happened, the first for $57.78 and the second for $16.94, the customer support informed me that there was nothing they could do, because the charges seemed to be coming from another unidentifiable account. I was informed that I must have signed up for a 2nd account, even if I had no recollection of said account. Both times, Vonage could not refund the amount, and I was forced to contact my credit card to dispute the charges. Thank goodness for credit card disputes.

I'm sure my days on hold are not over, since I still have to be refunded the cancellation fee for the service I never was able to use.

I will never try Vonage again, simply because of the pitiful quality of their customer service.

I'd be curious to know how this happens....
