I have a Lynksys RT31P2 router. My phone service is not working. The 2 phone lights blink periodically but do not stay lit. My internet works fine. This happened overnight. Maybe their service is down? I've reset the router, unplugged stuff and nothing works and I'm really annoyed!! Please help! |

I had a similar thing happen to me with my RP31P2 router. We lost power one night and our phone service never came back. The internet portion worked OK, but the phone adapter failed. The phone lights would occassionally blink on and off. It took about a week of calling the Vonage technical support people (via cell phone) in order to get a replacement router. I had to buy a new router from Vonage in order to get one shipped out. I discovered after I bought the new router that the old RP31P2 had a year warranty and I still had about five months left on the coverage. I'm currently going through Vonage customer service for a refund on the new router. I had to send in a copies of the warranty page and my welcome letter to prove that the old unit was under warranty. I also had to ship back the old router to the Vonage depot in Ohio. Still waiting on the refund. |

Try unplugging every piece of equipment from electricity and resetting the RT31P2 by holding the reset button for about 20 secs. Then hook everything back up starting with your Modem---->wireless router(if present)------>RT31p2. Of course wait to each piece has completely booted b4 moving to next. This should re-provision your phone adapter and it should come back on line. |

Thanks, I tried that and it didn't work. I also called customer service earlier from work and she reset it to line 2 and that still didn't work. She told me to call when I can be at the computer but that's not possible since the phone doesn't work!! Then she told me to bring my equipment to work and hook it up there LOL yeah okay!!
I think my router is broken as I read another post where someone had the same problem it they sent him a new router. So now I'll call back tomorrow from work and request a new router. I found my warranty info that came with my router and it says it has a year warranty so they better send me a new one. |

I find it unreal that they don't know what kind of warranty their products have. I'm glad I saved my booklet with the warranty info so when I call tomorrow I hope I won't have any issues. |

Yes, I sure did. I left it unplugged for about 10 minutes. Actually I've done that a few times today and nothing works. I am on hold with them right now from a cell phone. |

Well I hope if it's the adapter and it needs replaced, i personally would get the phone adapter only if you have no use for the router function. I had some on/off issues with the RT31p2 b4 switching to the PAP2.This seems to have solved all my connection and call quality issues. This way my wireless router is not fighting with the phone adapter. |

Okay so they are shipping me a new router and I'll have to send back the old one so I won't get charged. I should have the new one by Thursday or Friday he said. He did try to tell me that they don't replace routers anymore so I had to tell him that the booklet that came with mine said it has a one year warranty then he said okay. I could barely hear the guy and we got cut off and thank goodness they have caller ID there so he could call me back on the cell phone I called from becuase I was going to freak out if I had to be on hold for 45 minutes again!!
Thanks for the replies |

as an aside, if you get transfered, give the person you are transferred to your callback number just in case. There is no caller ID on transfers. |
